Relieve Stress at Your Desk

Well, Yes, you can do some yoga poses right at your desk.

For people who work at a desk long hours, sore backs and stress from repetitive tasks can result.   Incorporating some quick yoga routines into your day can encourage better posture, improve energy and focus and relieve the tension built up from repetitive movements.

We offer workshops to meet specific needs, but below are a couple popular exercises:

Stretch your wrists: This will help reduce built-up stress

  • Stand in front of your desk.
  • Turn your arms so your wrists face the front of your desk and you can grasp the edge of the desk with your fingers.
  • Lean forward putting gentle press on your wrists.
  • If you experience pain. pull back to a point you do not feel pain.
  • Repeat 3 times for 15 seconds.

Stretch your neck and shoulders:

  • Extend your arms parallel to the ground palms up.
  • Take your left arm and wrap it over your head grasping your right ear.
  • Tilt your head to the left while extending your right arm.
  • Bring your arms back to the  extended position.
  • Take your right arm and wrap it over the left ear.
  • Tilt your head to the right while extending you left arm.
  • Arms back to the extended position then down to your sides.
  • Roll your head  in a slow full circle clock-wise.
  • Repeat going counter clockwise.
